Use of predictive tests in undergraduate nursing programs: Two perspectives HESI/ATI research summary

As part of the multi-pronged efficacy project investigating PrepU usage and subsequent impact on student learning outcomes and teaching practices, we conducted retrospective case studies in two nursing schools. Both schools use the HESI Exit Exam as part of an NCLEX preparation strategy and incorporated PrepU into their nursing programs.

Comparing IRT difficulty and NCLEX-RN 10,000 question difficulty ratings for the top 100 items and 2000 student responses

In order to determine the relationship between question difficulty level in the NCLEX-RN 10,000 and IRT analysis difficulty we calculated correlations between the IRT-determined difficulties and the question difficulties previously determined by the NCLEX-RN 10,000. This analysis used the top 100 NCLEX-10,000 items and 2,000 students’ worth of data.
